Modalities for cider houses

Producer participation is organised through two options: in person and remote. The in-person option links competition, hall activities, professional meetings and direct contact. The remote option allows makers to compete by sending samples, while keeping blind tasting and assessment by the International Jury.

The organisation coordinates sample reception and classification, but transport, customs, taxes or import procedures remain the responsibility of each producer or logistics operator.

Cider categories

Entered ciders must be classified in one of the following categories.

Participation terms

SISGA offers two participation options: in-person participation in the 16th International Hall of Gala Ciders and SISGA Awards 2026, and remote participation only in the SISGA Awards 2026.

In-person participation

Participation is free of charge. Registration: until 1 September 2026. Sample reception: until 7 September 2026.

Requires the attendance of at least one person representing the participating company.

Required samples

  • 12 bottles of 75 cl for each cider or perry entered in the competition.
  • 6 bottles of 75 cl for each ice cider or fire cider entered.
  • 4 bottles of 75 cl for each cider spirit or cider liqueur entered.
  • 10 small bottles or cans of 33 cl, or smaller format, for each cider entered.

In addition to the samples for registration, enough cider must be provided for tasting and sale during the Open Public Tasting on Saturday 26 September, with an estimated attendance of around 800 people.

Registration includes

  • Accommodation in a four-star hotel for one person on the nights of 25 and 26 September, subject to booking conditions.
  • Participation in the SISGA Awards in all desired categories.
  • Mandatory participation of one company representative in the International Jury of the SISGA Awards.
  • Official working meals.
  • Possibility of leading a guided tasting.
  • Space and participation in the fair open to the public, with mandatory stand attendance.
  • Brotherhood espicha.
  • Gala Brunch and SISGA Awards ceremony, with one invitation for one person on Sunday 27 September.

Remote participation

Participation is free of charge. Registration: until 1 September 2026. Sample reception: until 7 September 2026.

For companies that only wish to take part in the SISGA Awards without attending the event.

Required samples

  • 5 bottles of 75 cl for each cider or perry entered in the competition.
  • 3 bottles of 75 cl for each ice cider or fire cider entered.
  • 2 bottles of 75 cl for each cider spirit or cider liqueur entered.
  • 10 small bottles or cans of 33 cl, or smaller format, for each cider entered.

International Jury

For in-person participation, one company representative must take part in the International Jury of the SISGA Awards. The International Jury is formed by one representative from each participating cider house and assesses ciders by blind tasting by category.

Distinctions

  • Premium: best-ranked cider in each category.
  • Gold: 85 to 100 points.
  • Silver: 70 to 84 points.
  • Bronze: 60 to 69 points.
  • Premium ciders receive a trophy and diploma. Gold, Silver and Bronze receive a diploma and digital award labels in PDF.

Accompanying person price for the whole event: €270. Registration and payment for accompanying persons: exclusively through the SISGA website.

The organisation does not cover procedures or costs arising from customs, taxes, duties or any other cost related to sample importation.

Participation options for cider houses

SISGA offers two participation options for cider houses and producers: in-person and remote. Both allow ciders to enter the SISGA Awards and both are included in the blind-tasting system of the International Jury.

In-person participation

  • Presence of the cider house at the International Hall of Gala Ciders.
  • Participation in the SISGA’26 Awards and in the professional activity of the hall.
  • Direct contact with the public, professionals, press, institutions and other producers.
  • Samples required for competition and tasting, in sufficient quantity for assessment, service and public presentation. Around 800 people attend this event.

Remote participation

  • Entry of ciders in the SISGA’26 Awards by sending samples.
  • No physical presence of the cider house at the hall is required.
  • Samples must arrive correctly identified, classified by category and within the stated deadline.
  • Transport, customs, taxes or import procedures are the responsibility of each producer or logistics operator.

International Jury composition and system

  • The International Jury of the SISGA Awards is formed by one representative from each cider house taking part in SISGA.
  • Assessment is carried out by blind tasting: ciders are presented by category, without the jury knowing the producing cider house during evaluation.
  • SISGA Award distinctions are Premium, Gold, Silver and Bronze, according to the score obtained.
  • The organisation coordinates sample reception, classification and traceability to ensure neutrality during tasting.
